Troubleshooting Information
Flash Player 5
Flash Version Box
The box below should display the version number of your flash player in
the boxes labelled Major Version and Minor Version.
If the Major Version is less than 5 (or that box is blank), it is probable that Flash Player has not installed properly - see point 1 below.
If there is nothing in this box, it is likely that you do not have the correct ActiveX settings - see point 2 below.
1. Flash Player Not Installing Properly
Occasionally the new version of Flash Player fails to install over an older version of Flash Player.
To install the new version of Flash Player, the old version will need un-installing. To do this follow the instructions on the Macromedia websites at: http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/remove_player.htm
The executable file can also be downloaded from coachskills.com:
After uninstalling your existing Flash Player you can then install the most
up-to-date version by visiting ![]()
2. Activex Controls Disabled
If you are using Internet Explorer, Flash Player requires you to have Activex Controls enabled.
To check these, go to Tools, Internet Options then Security.
Highlight the Internet Zone at the top of the box and then click on Custom Level.
The top options are relevant to ActiveX controls and plug-ins:
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins should be set to Enable
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting should be set to Enable
Please Note - If you are running Coachskills on a corporate network, please see your Network Administrator before editing any of the security settings in your browser.
